Let's Go To...

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!  More specifically, Casa 32, a beautiful two-suite house near all the activities Rio has to offer.  This gorgeous property even affords views of Christ the Redeemer.  Absolutely amazing!  When can I go?!

The patio is a dream.  I love the bright rug they incorporated into the scheme.  I'd spend many a lazy afternoon here, but would also steal away to Copacabana Beach.

During a particularly unpleasant week at the office I can't help but to conjure images of imaginary adventures (where money is no object)!  Daydreaming of faraway places is too much fun!

Tuesday Tune

I was listening to this Duke Ellington album over the weekend and I really enjoyed the fantasy of it all.  The 'Far East Suite' is a collection of songs inspired by the tour of the (where else?) Far East by Ellington and his band.  It's classic and whimsical and conjures fantasies of travel to exotic locales.

A Succulent Show

 Over the weekend my mom and I visited a local Succulent and Cactus show at a local park where there were many beautiful plants on display and for sale.  It really is amazing to see the diversity among the different variations.  (I only had my iPhone, but it did a great job!)

I'm such a sucker for succulents!

Of course I bought a few for our garden.  I can't wait to find the perfect pot for them!

...San Miguel de Allende, Mexico!

Please take me to this boutique hotel, Casa de Liza Villas en el Parque.  We could leisurely wander the lush grounds, explore the city of San Miguel de Allende, enjoy delicious meals, and simply relax.

Perhaps we would sit in this very room and enjoy some reading!

Simple and Beautiful

I stumbled upon this gorgeous shop as I was reading another blog and I was immediately drawn in to the simplistic beauty of the products of Oi Soi Oi. 

From their website, "Oi Soi Oi is a Danish company designing and producing interior designs, furniture, clothes and accessories. Our products are made by hand in carefully selected workshops in Vietnam.  In our universe we aim to combine Scandinavian design simplicity with the rich craft heritage of Asia."  

I really love the calming effect of the colors, textures, and arrangements.  I could easily incorporate many of these pieces in my existing rooms and they'd look fabulous.
