Sweets

No matter what your plans are this Valentine's weekend, I hope they're sweet!  Chocolat - one of my favorite, comfort-movies of all time.  Juliette Binoche's hair in this movie is my idea of perfection and I wore my hair like hers for quite some time!

My celebrity valentine, Mr. Johnny Depp!  YUM!  Seriously, could he look any better than he does playing Roux?

Matisse

I am really inspired by this piece of art by Henri Matisse - Interior Flowers and Parakeets.


Our bedroom is the only place in the house with bare walls.  If you know me, I don't like bare walls - I want to be interested in every room I visit.  We have a grouping of three Moroccan glass lanterns hanging in one corner of the room (opposite our bed) and I think the print above would look fabulous on the same wall.  A tarnished silver or bronze frame would look great!


I also love the print below (also by Matisse), Music.  I am very fond of groupings - do you think these two pair well together?  I can't decide.  I think a third piece is needed to tie the two together or perhaps this piece is better suited to another space altogether.

I love knowing I could wake up every morning see this prints first thing.  They're so rich and colorful!  Are they too different to pair together?  Your thoughts?

Cairo & Giza, Egypt [Honeymoon Part Six]

Egpyt was such an amazing experience!  We began our first day in Port Said and then drove almost four hours inland to Cairo and Giza to see the pyramids.  STUNNING!  They took my breath away! 


We snapped a few pictures, James went inside a pyramid, and I rode a camel!  We took it all in - the pyramids in front of us and the Sahara behind us.  INCREDIBLE!


Nearby is the Sphinx and that was also amazing to see!  Our fabulous day wasn't done yet - it concluded with a boat ride (and lunch) on the Nile River!  It was all so amazing and adventurous and I absolutely LOVED every second of it!

Tuesday Tune

Sit back and relax - these two songs calm me and bring me peace!  I see a vision of myself sitting in the warm, afternoon sun sipping an iced jasmine green tea and a slight breeze dancing in the leaves.  Total happiness!  I love how songs transport us and these two hit the mark.  Enjoy!
