One of my favorite Christmas cd's is the Elf movie soundtrack. All the songs are upbeat and festive and it's an overall wonderful mix of sounds! Here are some of my favorites:

Harry Potter Party
A couple of weeks ago James and I hosted our very own Harry Potter Party in celebration of the newest film! I re-read the whole series in anticipation for the first installment of the seventh film - what a blast! I will never deny how much of a Harry Potter fan I am - and always will be! I wish the series could continue forever, I love each character. Reading and re-reading these books is so familiar and safe and heartwarming. The perfect winter/holiday read!

Tuesday Tune (Christmas Edition!)
"...oh, tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy..."
I discovered this version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen a couple years ago and I am still so inspired by the voices of Sarah McLachlan (of course) and the Barenaked Ladies.
One of my favorite Christmas songs!

Success = Happiness
On this ordinary Thursday I'm pondering the meaning of success. It sounds daunting... but what is more calming than feeling successful in life? To me being successful is leading a happy, fulfilling life. What makes me happy? Such an easy and difficult question to answer! Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that make us less than happy. Often times this means we're overly stressed and anxiety ridden. Oh wait, is that just me?! If it is clear to me that I must change my situation to become happier, why is it so difficult to do so? I feel myself struggling against society's definition of "success". Why do I care?
"The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had means, time, influence and educational advantages; the question is what he will do with the things he has. The moment a young man ceases to dream or to bemoan his lack of opportunities and resolutely looks his conditions in the face, and resolves to change them, he lays the corner-stone of a solid and honorable success."

Yoga Schmoga?
I signed up for a month-long beginner's yoga class and tonight is our first meeting. This is my second try at yoga and I'm hoping I can benefit from the class! Or, at the very least, it will be a welcome relief after months of frazzled, wedding'd out nerves. The last yoga/meditation class I took was so relaxing I fell asleep. Oops! Let's hope for a better night tonight!
