So even if you don't know what it's like to work a tax season, please join me in my celebration (just close your eyes and pretend you're six years old on Christmas morning and also you're 18, just finished your finals and you have the whole summer vacation ahead of you and you'll know what I feel like)!

Tuesday Tune (and a CELEBRATION)!
TAX. SEASON. IS. OVER. And that means I can get back to my normal life, my normal routine, and I can do it all while being AWAKE and not in some zombie haze. So without further ado, here is one of my favorite songs of all time because 1) it is in my favorite movie of all time and 2) whenever I hear it all I want to do is jump up and dance!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is my birthday! Alas, I am holed up at the office (7 more working days of tax season...) but I celebrated over the weekend by getting my nails done, enjoying a delicious Indian dinner with friends (which is exactly what I did last year!) and then dancing the night away. I was so lucky to have my best friend in town for a second year in a row (I'm so spoiled now) and it really made everything extra special.
Tonight J and I are going to a nice dinner and then I hope to stay awake long enough to relax at home! These looooooong, looooooong work weeks + workouts + sleepless nights have officially caught up to me and you can tell by my blog. I hope to be back soon, friends. I don't like that work consumes my life and leaves me with little energy to do much else.
And since it's Tuesday... how about one of my favorite songs for my birthday:
"...Oh, it doesn't mean much... it doesn't mean anything at all... and sweet surrender, is all that I have to give..."

Tuesday Tune
What a fantastic holiday weekend - it felt just like a good old fashioned summer vacation! We were so productive and got a lot of "to-do's" done, had great fun with friends at our barbeque, and spent yesterday swimming and relaxing at my parents' house. I want to continue the festive mood today with a great Dave Matthews Band song:
"...still make lemonade taste like a sunny day... stay, beautiful baby, I hope you stay American baby... you could always make me laugh out loud..."

Opa!
Over the weekend, James and I hosted a barbecue with my friends from work to celebrate (some more) the end of our busy season! The theme was "GREEK" and we went all out! (One of our favorite go-to lunch spots is a local Greek eatery that is to die for so why not recreate the deliciousness at home?).
We had chicken and onion kebobs that marinated in yogurt, olive oil, rosemary and lemon juice overnight, spinach and feta spanakopita, a Greek salad complete with feta, olives, onions, tomatoes, and cucumber, delicious tzatziki, and of course there was plenty of hummus and pita bread and wine! We even had homemade baklava for dessert. Everything was FANTASTIC!
I need to be better about snapping pictures because I realized later I missed out on a few! Too many glasses of wine for me!
The boys topped off the night playing with fire in our new chimenea we picked up on our getaway to the coast. Overall it was a great night with great friends and a perfect way to celebrate!

Happy Easter
Happy Easter!
I am thinking back on the days my sister and I would hunt for eggs and enjoy the treats the Easter Bunny left for us. Fun memories!

Tuesday Tune (Dog Days Are Over!)
I am feeling so relieved today and in a mood for celebration! Florence and the Machine has the perfect sounds for letting loose! Yes, the dog days are OVER!
"...Midas is king and he holds me so tight, and turns me to gold in the sunlight..."
"...until I wrap myself in your arms I cannot rest..."
"...the dog days are over, the dog days are done!..."
"...Midas is king and he holds me so tight, and turns me to gold in the sunlight..."
"...until I wrap myself in your arms I cannot rest..."
"...the dog days are over, the dog days are done!..."
