Bring on the Wonder

Last night's yoga class marked two months of continuous practice!  In early December I decided to give yoga another try.  I'd tried it only once before and I felt I needed to give it another go and to devote myself more fully.  Even though it's only been a short two months, I'm already feeling such a connection and devotion to my practice.

My yoga practice gives me the time my soul needs to rejuvenate and RELAX!  It's tough for me (and everyone else, right?) to take time away from my often-times hectic, overstimulated, noisy, frustrating, days to be still, quiet, mindful, and introspective.

Tonight I left class with a smile on my face!

Friday Bits

So, last Friday I featured some amazing carpets from Anthropologie.  This Friday I want to share some adorable mini planter pots in the shape of a giraffe and elephant (also from Anthropologie).  These are so "me".  They conjure sun-infused images of (terra cotta) safaris and adventure - my guilty pleasure daydream.

These little guys would look perfect on my front walkway waiting to greet me each night after work.

Have a fabulous (and inspiring) weekend!

Haifa, Israel [Honeymoon Part Four]

Israel was such an interesting place filled with juxtapositions everywhere we turned.  It was unlike any place I'd ever been and it was so awesome to know we were walking on such ancient land.

We started the day in the port city of Haifa (where you can find the famous Baha'i Gardens), and continued to the Church of the Beatitudes which sits on the hill overlooking the Sea of Galilee, the Church of the Loaves and Fishes, Capharnaum (The Town of Jesus), a Kibbutz where we ate our lunch, and the River Jordan where we witnessed people being baptized.

We finished our day meandering the streets of Nazareth and saw the Church of the Anunciation.  Everything was amazing to experience!

Tuesday Tune

Most days at work I'm listening to radio stations on iTunes (in the Ambient category).  One of my favorites is called "Zen For You" and this is where I first heard this gem.  I'm excited to hear more of Thievery Corporation's music!

Good Taste

One of my easy dinner favorites is my goat cheese and caramelized onion pizza.  I usually throw in some un-cooked spinach as well to top it off.  Goat cheese is delicious and I love finding excuses to include it in my recipes!

Ingredients:
  • Goat cheese
  • Red onion
  • Spinach (fresh)
  • Pizza dough
  • Red pepper flakes
Bake the pizza at 500 degrees for 10 minutes, or until the goat cheese is browned.  Enjoy!

I saw these Moroccan rugs on the Anthropologie website and fell in love!!  One can only dream...

Have a wonderful weekend!

Goop

I've always admired Gywneth Paltrow and the confidence she exudes.  She is so well spoken and so I was thrilled to learn she had started her own website called Goop where she shares information about things such as cooking, traveling, shopping, and how to lead an overall well-rounded, healthy, happy life.

I have signed up for the weekly Goop newsletter but I also like perusing through her psuedo-blog website for past articles.

Kusadasi, Turkey [Honeymoon Part Three]

We found ourselves in Turkey on the third leg of our honeymoon.  What a magical place!  We visited the port city of Kusadasi and took a small trip to the Roman ruins at Ephesus.  I absolutely loved seeing the Celsus Library - so amazing!  I'd love to explore more of the country someday - especially Istanbul.

Tuesday Tune

I've always had an appreciation for all types of music and sounds.  Edward Maya's new single Stereo Love has a special place in my heart.  Perfect!

Patmos, Greece [Honeymoon Part Two]

Our second stop on our honeymoon was Patmos - a small Greek island.  It was such a wonderful, relaxing place to visit.  The weather was gorgeous and all the colors so vivid.
